THEY JUST ARE

I am not a person who tends to stop and look up at the clouds in the sky. I see their beauty at times but I probably do not stop and stare as much as I could. Hence this poem.

CLOUD WATCHING

Switch off that phone

you do not need to look up

the scientific names of what are above you

they just are

so invest them with a story

a drama that can unfold across the afternoon

move to this new rhythm

truly you are in no hurry

give thanks for this brief space

then try to make time tomorrow

to do it all again

I am lucky enough to be able to take time and just be. I think it is beneficial to everyone if you can just stop once in a while, but I know some people have not got that luxury. This poem is going to go away for a while.

Tanita Tikaram has a new album out [actually it's been out for a while]. Here's a live concert.

Until next time.
